Seeking Public Child Welfare Agencies to Participate in the Child Welfare Workforce Analytics Institute

Staff recruitment, selection, and retention are constant challenges for child welfare agencies. In 2017, the QIC-WD selected eight sites from among many applicants to partner with us for a multi-year, rigorous evaluation to dive deep into their human resources (HR) and child welfare data to understand and address the root causes of worker turnover in the agency. In 2020, the QIC-WD is hosting a Child Welfare Workforce Analytics Institute (The Institute) to work with additional public child welfare agencies on a short-term project that inspires collaboration between HR and child welfare staff. This is an opportunity for small teams to work with the QIC-WD to examine their data and analyze pertinent child welfare workforce challenges.

The QIC-WD is seeking 5 to 8 public and tribal child welfare agencies that are interested in participating in The Institute. Selected agencies are expected to attend multiple webinars and an (all-expenses-paid) 2-day workshop in Washington, D.C. on August 25–26, 2020. They will also be assigned a QIC-WD representative to provide coaching and individualized support as the agency prepares for The Institute and develops an action plan to improve an aspect of their workforce data analytics capacity and practice.

The call for applications is available here and the deadline to apply is February 14, 2020. An information session will be held on Friday, January 10th at 11am Central Time using Zoom at https://unl.zoom.us/j/935319189 and/or by phone (646) 876-9923. Please contact us at info@qic-wd.org with any questions.
